Commercial Soft Wash
Say goodbye to unwanted Business front stains with our efficient service
Service Description
Step-by-Step Soft Washing Procedure for a Building 1. Preparation and Safety Inspect the building: Check for any damaged bricks, mortar, or loose areas that could be further damaged by washing. Wear safety gear: Gloves, goggles, and protective clothing to prevent chemical exposure. Protect nearby plants, landscaping, and electrical outlets: Cover with plastic sheets or tarps. Turn off power: To outdoor outlets, lights, or any electrical fixtures to prevent hazards. 2. Set Up Equipment Use a soft wash system or low-pressure washer (typically under 500 psi). Prepare a soft wash solution — a mixture of water, bleach (usually sodium hypochlorite), and a surfactant or cleaner designed for masonry. Typical ratio: 1 part bleach to 3-4 parts water, plus a small amount of surfactant. Use specialized masonry-safe detergents if possible. Fill the soft wash tank or pump sprayer with the prepared cleaning solution. 3. Pre-wet the Surface Lightly spray the brick with clean water to pre-wet the surface. This helps prevent the cleaning solution from drying too quickly and reduces the chance of streaking. 4. Apply Cleaning Solution Spray the soft wash solution evenly over the brick surface from bottom to top. This prevents streaking and runs. Allow the solution to dwell on the surface for about 10-15 minutes (but don’t let it dry). The solution will break down mold, mildew, algae, and dirt. 5. Agitate if Necessary For stubborn spots or stains, gently scrub with a soft-bristle brush or broom. Avoid using wire brushes or any other abrasive materials that can damage the brick or mortar. 6. Rinse Thoroughly Using low pressure or a garden hose with a spray nozzle, rinse the building from top to bottom. Make sure to rinse off all cleaning solution completely to prevent residue buildup. Avoid high pressure during rinsing to protect the brick integrity. 7. Inspect and Repeat (if needed) Check the surface after drying. If stains or mildew remain, repeat the application on those areas. 8. Clean Up Remove all coverings from plants and outlets. Dispose of or store cleaning solution properly. Wash your equipment thoroughly.
